Dicks are fascinating to me, its amazing how they grow and work, even after all the dicks I have seen I still like looking at them. A recent Men's Magazine Men's Health survey reports that 71 percent of men have penises that are growers, and 21 percent have showers. A grower the study showed adds between 2-3 inches in length with the average grower flaccid penis about 3 inches long and erect on average 5 1/2 - 6 inches.

A shower adds 0-2 inches and the average shower flaccid penis was about 5 inches long and 6 - 6 1/2 inches long erect. The other 8% where those in the study that both where showers and growers, adding between 1-3 inches in additional size. The grower and shower men averaged 6 1/2 inches long flaccid and 8 inches long erect. The typical girth increase was about 2X for showers, growers and the magical 8%.

What the study ground interesting is that the increase in size was mostly consistent regardless of where you started, which somewhat debunks the theory that the flaccid state does not matter. It appears with this study that there is about a 1 inch difference in length if you start out with a bigger one that's soft. The study did point out that the flaccid state of men is so varied (in other words, the same man can be very small one minute and bigger the next) that they feel like more studies need to be performed.

What does Jane think? The study actually seems accurate from my dealings. For the most part it seemed there was only a small difference in size from a mans limp state to him being hard and if they started off bigger limp they where somewhat bigger hard. With that said though, I have seen some tiny ones get damn big in my day.
And that's not all. This recent research not only studies flaccid vs erect state but confirms what men have long suspected and, in some cases, feared. The penis itself undergoes significant changes as a man moves from his sexual prime -- around age 30 for most guys -- into middle age and on to older age. Changes include:

Appearance. There are two major changes. The head of the penis (glans) gradually loses its purplish red color, the result of reduced blood flow. And there is a slow loss of pubic hair (women loose pubic hair also, I have noticed this!). "As testosterone wanes, the penis gradually changes.

In addition to this apparent shrinkage (which is reversible) the penis tends to undergo an actual (and irreversible) reduction in size. The reduction -- in both length and thickness -- typically isn't dramatic but may be noticeable. "If a man's erect penis is 6 inches long when he is in his 30s, it might be 5 or 5-and-a-half inches when he reaches his 50s in some cases and there could be another 1/2 loss when men get in there 70s, and 80's" the study says.

What causes the penis to shrink? At least two mechanisms are involved. One is the slow deposit of fatty substances (plaques) inside tiny arteries in the penis, which impairs blood flow to the organ. This process, known as atherosclerosis, is the same one that contributes to blockages inside the coronary arteries -- a leading cause of heart attack, therefore the healthier you are the bigger your penis stays!
